With the global awakening for environmental conservation, consumers’ demand of sustainable products has surged unprecedentedly, which not only propel market expansion but also redefines consumption paradigms. Sustainable products, in short, refer to those engineered to minimize environmental footprints throughout their entire life cycle, (i.e. from design, production to waste disposal), while maintaining their economic viability and social acceptability. By integrating the environmentally-friendly materials, energy-saving technology and recycling economic concepts, they aim to achieve the highly efficient resource utilization and sustainable development.

Against such backdrop, internationally renowned brands answered to the call by launching green products with recycled ingredients, accurately capturing and meeting new market demands, hence, to establish a greener and more responsible brand image in consumers’ minds. In this global green transition wave, HSCC is gradually becoming a leader in chemical and fiber industry by virtue of its forward-looking strategic vision and profound scientific research and exceptional innovation capacity.

Centered on the nylon chemical regeneration technology independently developed by Highsun Group, the CR project of Fujian Highsun Green Technologies Co., Ltd. establishes a T2T closed-loop recycling system of regenerated nylon, and carries out the engineering practice at Shenyuan Integrated Industrial Park by leveraging the completed pilot-scale validation test of the Group. This project aims to deliver all-round solutions for nylon regeneration to partners, which enables perfect  disposal of partners' waste trimmings and post-consumer waste textiles and other raw materials. Recycled nylon products featured with superior carbon footprint performance and same quality as virgin nylon, offer a wide range of options for customized functions. The Phase I facility, scheduled for production in Q1 2026, will achieve a capacity of 7,000 tons of chemically regenerated nylon, to fill the gap in the nylon T2T recycling field in China. With a total investment up to 379 million CNY and the project's long-term production capacity reaching 100,000 tons, it underscores Highsun Group's unwavering commitment to sustainable development.

※Textile to Textile (T2T) refers to the process of reprocessing waste textiles into new textiles, which is crucial for protecting the environment and saving resources, to truly realize textile recycling and vigorously promote the flourishing of sustainable fashion industry.

In order to facilitate the successful implementation of the project above, Highsun Group grandly unveiled its cutting-edge next-generation chemical recycling pilot plant on March 20, 2024 at Chemelot Industrial Park in Geleen, the Netherlands. The plant deeply integrates the experience of Fibrant B.V., one of Highsun Group's subsidiary, which is also the formerly globally renowned Royal DSM’s Caprolactam plant with over 70 years of experience in the field of caprolactam purification, to achieve a perfect combination of technological inheritance and innovation. Being one of the major projects with the largest investment scale in the park, it is also honorably granted with subsidies from the Dutch government's Demonstration of Energy and Climate Innovation (DEI+) program for its outstanding contribution to technological innovation and sustainable development. The Dutch government provides substantial funding to support various pilot and demonstration projects, and attaches great importance to the promotion of material recycling to help achieve the goal of cost-effective carbon reduction. This is not only a major milestone for Highsun Group in building a T2T recycling system for nylon, but also a symbol that the Group's unremitting exploration and outstanding contribution have been widely and highly recognized.

Not only has Highsun Group achieved efficient utilization of primary recycling through depolymerization technology and made breakthroughs in the field of chemical recycling, it is also steadily building up a perfect hierarchical recycling system and realizing lower-carbon recycling by means of physical recycling. In addition to recycled products, Highsun Group has also achieved remarkable results in the fields of different sustainable products such as low-carbon, bio-based, original liquid coloring, degradable and etc. EcoLactam® independently developed by Highsun Group, including low-carbon caprolactam, polyamide and nylon yarn-related product series, boasts carbon footprint as low as 3.3CO2-eq/kg, which reaches a world-leading level. The products can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the application of proprietary process technology. Bio-based products are made from renewable biomass through bio-fermentation, purification, polymerization and spinning, significantly reducing the use of petroleum raw materials. Dope-dyed products applies in-situ polymerization technology, which helps to achieve thorough chemical bonding between pigment molecules and the polymer melt during the polymer production process so that dyeing is not required from chip polymerization to garment manufacturing, which greatly reduces the sewage discharge of the whole industrial chain to save water and energy; in addition, utilizing a bio-anaerobic degradation methodology, biodegradable products containing degradation-promoting additives enable the safe and rapid mineralization of discarded textiles into harmless substances (e.g., water and inorganic salts) within specific oxygen-deprived soil environments. The degradation process is exclusively triggered under anoxic soil conditions, thereby preventing premature degradation during the product's operational lifespan.

With forward-looking strategic vision and solid scientific research foundation, Highsun Group is actively walking in the forefront of green transition in the chemical fiber industry. We look forward to joining hands with more textile brands which embrace the sustainable development concept, to lead the new trend of green development in the industry, and jointly build up a greener, more prosperous and hopeful industry.
