On October 23-24, The German Munich function fabric fair (PERFORMANCE DAYS ) was held in Munich exhibition center. As one of the most important function fabric fair, PERFORMANCE DAYS has gained wide recognition from the whole industry and is seen as the weather vane of global function fabric market thanks to its professional positioning and industry trend release.
FBV of Highsun Group stunned all at the fair with its EcoLactam® products, showcasing the CXI jacket, the garment co-created with DIDRIKSONS for the customers at the fair.
DIDRIKSONS, a Swedish outdoor brand, was founded in 1913. At the beginning, the brand was mainly producing fishermen’s work uniforms; with time passing by, it gradually grows into a top-notch outdoor brand in Europe, famous for its human-centered design and high technology applied.
As a pioneer towards more sustainable fashion, FBV and Didriksons have joined forces to create CXI jacket, which was made with EcoLactam® and no other accessories to make it more convenient for recycling in the future, which showcases the importance of collaboration across the entire value chain.
EcoLactam® as a low-carbon CPL product self-developed by FBV, boasts a carbon footprint 70% lower than that of regular polyamide, demonstrating the company’s concept of sustainable development.
For FBV, involving brands into the full value chain is crucial since it would gain significant additional benefits if raw material suppliers could participate in the beginning of the R&D process of final product. Typically, brands collaborate with Tier 1, 2, or 3 partners in innovation projects. However, in this groundbreaking initiative with Didriksons, EcoLactam® was part of the product development from the ground up.
FIBRANT’s business sustainable development manager, Giovanni Henssen said: “By using EcoLactam®, which has a carbon footprint 70% lower than traditional polyamide, Didriksons was able to align its product development with its sustainability goals.”
Per Odqvist, Chief Sourcing Officer at Didriksons said: “EcoLactam®'s involvement from the earliest stages of development was particularly impactful because raw material extraction and processing account for over 80% of Didriksons' carbon footprint. By using EcoLactam®, the CXI jacket achieves a significant reduction in carbon emissions, aligning with Didriksons' commitment to environmental responsibility.”
As the fashion industry continues to grapple with environmental concerns, Highsun Group’s efforts in this field have become increasingly vital in driving green transition and reducing the sector's carbon footprint. In recent years, Highsun Group has put remarkable endeavors into sustainable development, apart from EcoLactam®, Highsun Group chemical sector has succeeded in pilot production of regenerated PA6, which will enter mass production in the near future for commercialization, to fill the void of domestic nylon regeneration and meet the diversified demands of value chain partners for sustainable development, making significant contribution to the environment conservation as an exemplar for the industry.
In the future, Highsun will continue its production in a more efficient and eco-friendly way, cooperate with excellent partners in the industry to provide all-around nylon regeneration solutions for creating a better future with sustainable development.
